On September 11, 2015 Sister Myriam Odilia Lum opened the Notre Dame de Accueil Center (CENODA) in Bidzar, Garoua, Cameroon.
CENODA is a framework that welcomes orphan children, children who left the parental guardianship due to physical or psychological abuses, come from families in difficulty, or are victims of the terrorist organization Boko Haram.
CENODA welcomes around 125 children from various backgrounds in rural areas. Together with Sr. Myriam, only 3 more sisters and 4 fearless volunteers are working to improve the daily life of these children.
To ensure the full and harmonious development of a child, he or she should grow up in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding. The situation of many African children is critical due to socio-economic, cultural, traditional factors, as well as to natural disasters, armed conflicts, exploitation, and hunger.
